Poorly cordyline

Hi

Can anyone give me advice on what’s wrong with my cordylines and how to treat them?

One is a red one and most of the leaves look as though they are dying. New leaves also don’t look healthy.  The other one is green. The bottom leaves are yellow and the rest seem to be covered in yellow spots. Any advice on how to save them would be great. I have attached some photos.

Thank you.

It is natural for the lower leaves to gradually die off as the plant grows.  These can be either pulled gently off the trunk or cut and disposed off.

Difficult to see from the photos but they prefer well drained soil and a sunny spot. It's possible the Red is over potted ?  If the pots are flat onto  a solid surface, it's also possible  that they are not sufficiently well drained.

We had a cordyline in a pot for years and years, and it just sort of sat there doing nothing. So a few years ago I planted it in the ground... And it's never looked back, it's a monster and flowered for the first time this year. Absolutely beautiful.
    Maybe you could try that?
  • Thank you. That makes sense as we’ve just potted up the red ones. They were doing better in the smaller pots. We’re also planning raised beds so might try one of them planted in it to see how it goes. The green one we’ve just bought so might just trim back the affected leaves and see how it gets on from there. I read somewhere it could be fungal and advice on internet was to get rid but the new leaves look ok.

    Thanks guys. Take care x
