This morning I noticed this on my Victoria Plum.
I imagine it's not great for keeping bacteria out. What can be done for it?

There's splits in various places on all sides of the tree although not prolific and upon further inspection, my other plum and green gage also have some 😕 If there was anything oozing out I'd be really worried. I'm going to be getting a tree surgeon out in the near future to give them their first prune, fingers crossed he confirms it's nothing to worry about.
