Rose care for absolute beginner!

I bought 2 climbing roses and am excited to see them growing well, even have the pleasure of a few flowers and more buds pending. Everything I read about rose care suggests to leave and prune in the autumn. Mine seem to be firing off all these new growths at the junctions between the stem and offshoot branches. With my tomatoes I nip these out. Should I do the same or just leave until autumn pruning?

Hi @caszhurst88wn2iHTav and welcome to the forum 😊

No leave them. They’re going to turn into the side branches that’ll have the flowers on next year.

Rose care is a very different kettle of fish to tomato care 😉
