    Chooks for hens and chuckies for the stony stuff!   My NE/Geordie antecedents used the term but it's not one I've heard since my teens.

    When I was little my Nan called hens chuckies, and boiled eggs with soldiers were "chuckie eggs".

    Yes, I remember all eggs being called 'chuckie eggs' when I was little. :)
