Poorly acer
Hi,
A fortnight ago my 8 year old acer was the picture of health now it looks like it's on it's last legs. It is out of direct sunshine and wind. The bottom 2 spindly branches have healthy leaves on them but above that the top 3 foot has just shrivelled. The stem has gone black and there is some white soft white marshmallow type debris on it - not like scale. Any ideas??

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
It got it about 5-6 years ago and I thought I'd loose it.
I haven't.
But, I do have to remove dead branches each Spring and it now looks like a multi-stemmed shrub. Apart from that, it looks ok.
Mine is in the ground, so VW is in the soil in that area of my garden.
Your tree appears to be in a pot.
I's agree that you should dispose of it and the compost carefully.
You don't want any of it on the soil in your garden or you may introduce it to the rest of your garden.
