Growing on Carnations

I was given a packet of Carnation seeds - all germinated well in Greenhouse I then moved them outside all day, but put then under shelter at night and in heavy rain. They are now getting very straggly - where do I go from here.I would really like to succeed with them so any advice welcome thanks

They possibly need pinching out. I'm assuming they're a reasonable sort of size though?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Depends when you actually sowed them tho - if only this year, you may need to keep them trimmed back for flowering next year ?
They do tend to get a bit straggly but I only have experience of above mentioned.
