Weed or flowering plant?

Hi FolksI have something growing in my garden which I didn't plant I think! It's next to stems of Doronicum. The leaves are quite large and Hosta like and it has spikes with what may be flowers to come around the spike. Can anyone help me identify it. ThanksRichard

I have Plantago major ‘Purpurea’ cultivar, which can become quite spectacular and needs to be controlled. On the attached pic, its purple colour matches well the colour of Geranium x cantabrigiense ‘Cambridge’.
