Geum pests

Hi, my geum (Mrs Bradshaw) is covered in little white things and it’s not really flowering anymore. When it did flower, it didn’t look very vibrant. I did have quite a few aphids which I used to spray with soapy water. I just wondered if anyone had any advice how to revive this please?

They are white fly,   More difficult to get rid of than greenfly, or that’s what I find.

I'm wondering if it's also exhausted the compost and has run out of steam.
How long has it been in the pot ?

Oh, I didn’t know that was a thing! I can’t actually remember if I got it last year or the year before. Is it worth me repotting?

It might be worth a try. It could be that the plant is struggling and the whitefly is a symptom of that.
Wouldn't hurt to tip it out and check it over.
If there's still plenty of room as regards roots etc. maybe just put some fresh compost in the bottom of the pot  :)
  • Thank you! I’ll give that a go :)

When I read the title of that discussion, I thought you were seeking advice on getting rid of your geums, which to me are akin to weeds/pests. ;)

Also cut all the old leaves and stems right down to pot level.  It’s making new growth already.
