What are these plants?

Hi could you please identify these 2 plants one is in my bedding planter not sure if its a weed and the shrub I planted about 5 years ago and can't remember what it is, hasn't flowered yet was about 4 and a half foot and have pruned it.

    I think the top one is achillea ptarmica.

    The top photo looks like a Michaelmas daisy.  Not sure about the bottom one - leaves look rose-like, but can we have a photo from the side, showing the base of the plant please?

    I thought the bottom one looks like a rose too but it should have flowered after 5 years, unless you have pruned the flowers off. Has it got thorns?

    No it has no thorns.

    Thanks for the 2nd photo - I think you have an elderberry tree there and would take it out - definitely not suitable for a planter or even a small border.

    Yes, I agree ... Sambucus nigra ... Elder
