Pea plants dying off

My peas having growing well. Pods are forming and almost ready to pick. I have now noticed lower leaves yellowing and new flowers are looking like they are dying back. I'm wondering if the roots are rotting, I didn't think I had over watered but it's not looking good... any advice would be welcomed

  • So have mine. In fact my pea harvest has been poor for two seasons on the trot. Tried a new variety this year, Meteor. Back to Ambassador next year. That's what I planted last time I had a good yield. Even my French beans are struggling too...another new variety- Cupidon.
Might be the odd weather patterns?
I've even thought of giving my veg garden a year off and really packing on the manure to improve the soil?

Mine are ambassador... im getting good pod yield, and plenty of new flowers.. but over the last week or do thr plants are not looking to healthy.

Mangetout are doing well, good yield and getting a harvest every couple of days. But leaves are yellowing on those, maybe it'ds more to do with weather.

French beans are on same bed but they look healthy and starting to flower

They look fine to me, that's just what peas do, they are not long lived plants.

Thank you, that makes feel more confident. I've never grown anything before so it's all new to me. My first year on my allotment.
