Rose leaves lost colour

My rose leaves (various English) roses in one area of the garden have lost their colour and gone dry and brittle- this happened over the course of a week.  Does anyone have any ideas please? I can't see any visible pests.

    You have an insect feeding off the leaves. I see something, but not clearly, in the rightmost bottom leaf that -maybe- could be "the" culprit. Look on the right half of the leaf, near the center. But it could be dirt/etc too. If you confirm that there are no pests, they could have left so no action is needed. In that case, I like to take a picture and then repeat the picture from the same angle several days later so I can compare them and confirm that there is no more new leaf damage. Note that some pests only show up at night.
