I picked up this berberis maria for 20p at my local garden centre. It isnt looking too healthy hence the price. I wondered if anyone could tell me how to rejuvenate it or is it passed help? Many thanks Lee

I'd keep it in a shadier spot so that it isn't affected by heat or drought while it's trying to recover. Other than that, just keep an eye on it. It may take a while for it to establish and thrive. Shrubs aren't as quick as perennials.
It looks a bit over potted though. Ideally, a pot just big enough to accommodate the rootball plus about an inch or so extra right round, would be enough, and avoids a stressed plant sitting in excess moisture for too long, but gives enough sustenance to let it get back on it's feet.  :)
I don't know what you've used to pot it up with, but any compost will do for this year. If you want to keep it potted long term rather than planting out [assuming it recovers]  it'll need a soil based medium rather than just compost.
Good luck - hope it comes away for you, although at least at that price it's not a huge loss if it doesn't!  :)

Thank you so much for your advice. I'm completely new to gardening so haven't much of a clue what I'm doing. I shall repot to a smaller pot  straight away and hope for the best. Fingers crossed. Thank you again.

Berberis are generally very tough, but it'll just depend on how far gone it's been when you've bought it.
A good result for you if it starts producing some new foliage in the next month or two though    :)
