Raspberry plant

I have one raspberry plant growing in an open bottom chimney pot.  I'm trying to avoid suckers appearing in the rest of the garden and wondered whether growing it in this way (contained, albeit open at the bottom) would prevent suckers.  I know they're shallow rooting so thought it would work.  Any advice appreciated.

    I think you'll be safe.
I have mine enclosed with a root barrier which goes about 25cm into the soil with about 5cm above and no escapees so far in 5 years

I mulch both sides of my row with cardboard covered in grass clippings and/or leaves.. and they rarely sucker outside of the row.. so I think you'll be fine with your enclosure.
