Copper beech hedge

hi, I planted potted 5-6ft copper beech hedging in a single row of 70 last August (2020) and they have all leaved in may this year and look lovely. 2 of them have green leaves and have not turned purple like the rest yet, they are healthy looking thought. Does anyone know why this would be? They are all definitely copper beech and not common green. Thanks

All  beech is copper in autumn/winter  :)
If you've planted the purple variety of beech, it may simply be that there's been a couple of green saplings in there. Happens all the time.
There's a newish estate near me and most of the houses have beech hedging on the front boundaries, the majority of which are purple. Unfortunately, in many cases, among the purple ones are some green saplings. The only way round that is to remove the greens and replant with purple.
It would be best to just buy a couple of potted specimens during the summer, before the leaf colour changes and it's impossible to know if you have the right colour.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
