What pest is causing this?



Whats caused this in my spinach? Is it something to be concerned about?

    Leaf miner.  Tiny little insect which lives between the layers of the leaf. Difficult to treat. All we ever do is to remove the affected leaves.

    They are called leaf miners and live inside the leaf.  You can often see the insect inside and can then crush it between finger and thumb.  They don't usually cause significant damage (except in the case of beet leaf miner) but are unsightly on something you are going to eat.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
