Allotment boundaries advice

Hi there,

We have a five rod plot which is next to a very overgrown plot and would like to mark the boundaries more clearly, but ideally don't want to fence it. We've thought about fruit bushes as a marker. Any other ideas for how to create a more natural division between plots without fencing?

  • I think a row of step over apples would be fun...or otherwise some autumn fruiting raspberries. But probably can put some supports to help them...probably a thornless blackberry or tayberry would work nicely.

  • Thank you amancalledgeorge. We love the step over apple idea, didn't know about it, that's absolutely perfect.
    Many thanks!
