What is this? Phlox? Handsome weed?

It could possibly be Phlox Adessa Deep Purple - that’s the only thing I can think of that I planted somewhere here or nearby in a group last year. It just keeps getting taller - it’s well over a metre high now - with no sign of flowers. Does anyone recognise it? Could it be phlox? Any ideas gratefully received.

The stems immediately told me figwort but then the lower leaves are wrong.
Leaves for phlox also seem wrong.

Thanks @bertrand-mabel. I’m reassured that it’s flummoxing you too. The leaves aren’t phlox leaves you’re right.

It might be campanula pyramidalis. I grew some from seed last year.  My three haven’t produced any flower stems but some I gave away look just like that grrrr

I think @JAC51 could be right, campanula pyramidalis.

Ooooooohh!!!! That would make complete sense!!!!! Yes!!!

    You're both so clever.

    How exciting!

So are these flower stems do you think? I can only see leaves.

If that is what is is it will flower during the summer, the plants look big enough. It is a short live perennial but is usually grown as a biennial so it flowers in it's 2nd year.

Thank you @Busy-Lizzie. I'm so glad that's a mystery solved.
