Really silly question from a newbie 😂 ...

The bottom of my rosemary and lavender seedling(a few months old) stalks are green, fading into a brown colour as it goes further down to the soil, like in the photo. Is this normal? I'm guessing yes as its the stalk getting hardier. Silly question but i've never grown from seed before and just want to make sure 😅

Yes you’ve worked it out 😊  on shrubby plants the older growth gets ‘woodier’ as it ages 👍

I agree with your 'diagnosis',and also no question is silly!
