My citrus fruits live in deep, plastic pots and spend summer on the south facing house wall enjoying maximum available sunshine and regular temps up into the mid 40s Celsius when we have the heatwaves which are now common. Terracotta pots are porous and soak up water themselves so your poor lemon has a double whammy to deal with.
Put it in shade if you can, water it thoroughly and consider giving it a glazed pot or a plastic one (there are some which are attractive and good quality and will last years and be easier to manoeuvre than terracotta). Put it back in full sun once the heatwave is over and make sure it doesn't get thirsty.
