Are the leaves evergreen? I'm trying to work out the scale. I reckon it's a Pittosporum shrub and many will be fine with pruning lightly or severely from late spring onwards.
I’m not too sure if it’s evergreen as I only moved into the house a week ago, if it is a Griselinia would I be able to cut it back and shape it a little bit?
It’s usually grown as a hedging plant, similar in looks to a laurel hedge so I assume it can be cut back in the same fashion. its used a lot in Cornwall for hedging where it’s warmer, it wouldn’t do well in my windy exposed garden.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
