    I haven’t grown them before!
I have some in my little poly house too but they are not as ahead as the basket (think slugs have munched). I did the basket as I heard that they might trail down (most are going up now but once they reach the top, I suspect they will drop down) plus this gives them slug and maybe bird protection).

We had to put the indoor plants outside last week as the leaves were getting mould. They are thriving outdoors and we have many new cucamelons.
Did try one but not what we expected but we have heard that you can pickle them for later use.
    Maybe we will do this.

Fingers crossed they have time to mature 🤞🏼@SheperdsBarn

I’m hoping mine will produce something…

When I grew them a few years ago, they didn't get much bigger than that. 🤞🏼 that yours does well.

They grow to be a very large plant. Fascinating to watch the way the tendrils move around looking for something to cling onto.
I have harvested many bowl fulls now and we have eaten them raw but most I have pickled. Very nice indeed.
Interesting information on this website about being able to keep the tubers into next year for another harvest.

I tried that and failed completely for the past two years. I'll try again though - nothing to lose.

  • @AuntyRach ... that looks amazing!
Mine are doing well and were potted on into a raised bed in the polytunnel yesterday. So fingers crossed. I also put 3 into a compost bag ... I didn't have a grow bag ... and they are still in the greenhouse. Time will tell. I will upload a photo as soon as they have 'settled'.
    Thank you!
