Virus? Blight? Bacteria? Or nutrients??

Hi, can anyone help me work out what's happening to my poor snapdragons? Leaves are purple and twisted, growth is stunted, but there's no mildew or mould - the actual leaf colour has changed. Some of my Mexican Sunflowers have stunted growth with distorted leaves as well, but I think this might be blackfly damage... All grown from seed, never had an issue like this before in 17 years of gardening!

Have you or neighbours been spraying weedkiller in the vicinity, do you know? Maybe a 'weed and feed' on a lawn?

Not that I know of, but a friend has just suggested it might be down to weed-killer contaminated peat-free compost  :/

It does look like weed-killer damage

My snapdragons look the same this year. Examining them closely I have found very small black beetles in every growing tip. In my case I think this has caused the distorted leaves.
