    Thank you, I did have a look on there but I can’t fathom out which one it is. The ones that I thought it looked like had a strong fragrance but this one has a light scent.

    It looks like one of the David Austin ones to me. l did think maybe Gertrude Jekyll, but that has quite a strong perfume l believe.

    I thought it looked like Gertrude too but I have a Gertrude and mine smells so strong and this one doesn’t. Also the blooms on this rose are more cupped. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful!

    It is not Gertrude and it doesn't look like a DA. It looks familiar to me but I can't remember... I would have to research it.

    ..looks more like a Kordes doesn't it?  so not an Austin, the foliage is not from one of their lines..
    ..the lavender pink blooms remind me of 'Lavender Lassie' but that's an older Kordes..  how well do you know this rose, is it in your own garden?  does it repeat well, and was the scent description taken on a dull day?  have you discerned the scent on a hot day as well and if so is it still ''light''.. ?.. thanks..

    @Marlorena, is there a way to tell that it's not an Austin rose ? I must admit that l was swayed by the shape of the flowers. I suppose that over the years other breeders have managed to produce similar style roses, but l wondered how to recognise the difference?

    ... the foliage on that rose is rounded, and glossy, similar to what you find in Kordes and Tantau roses... and post-war climbing roses..  it doesn't have the look of an 'English Rose' to my eyes, I'd be very surprised if it was.. the foliage on Austins is usually quite distinctive, like a 'brand', although you do see it in other roses too now as they use some Austins for breeding, where permissible..

    At first I did think of 'Pink Perpetue' but the blooms look a little too full..

    @Marlorena I am curious what the rules for breeding are. In the Lens book (which describes a period ending at the end of the last century) breeders seem to be using each other's creations to create new crosses all the time.

    With those cupped blooms and healthy, glossy foliage I first thought was it might be the pink Eden rose, but it doesn’t seem to have the paler edges/reverse of that. It could be another Meilland rose? Or a Kordes… Would love to know.
