Planting ideas for rear garden

We have recently moved and would like some advice of what to plant in our rear garden, we are looking for plants that are low maintenance and perennial.

Thank you

    Welcome to the forum  :)
Can you give a little more information please, such as is it a sunny or shady site, what type of soil do you have, and any particular colour scheme you'd prefer ?
  •  The garden is quite sunny, the top part gets the sun in the morning and from around lunchtime onwards the whole garden gets the sun, we are looking for something low maintenance and draws wildlife (butterflies etc.), the soil is quite fine. Thanks

Low maintenance meaning never do anything? Or do minimal maintenance?
This is a good one and is very easy to propagate  - if a bit falls off you can just stick it in the soil and it will root easily but you will have to deadhead to prolong flowering otherwise you could just leave it and maybe it'll be fine.
  • Don’t mind some work - weeding etc, don’t want anything that will take over the garden.

Fushchias are low maintenance. Don't need dead-heading. Just need to find one which is hardy. I have this fuschia
but it's the end of June and the foliage is barely coming out, let alone the flowers. I found it absolutely beautiful last year and I didn't need to do anything to it.

Hardy geraniums, penstemon, scabious and lavender are just a few.
You might want to consider hebes or something similar to give you something to look at over winter.
