Sweet corn

I live in north east Scotland so successfully grown my sweetcorn in a polytunnel, but this year the plants have produced numerous side shoots. Do I leave them on or remove them please?

Just leave them on, they will not cause any harm or issues.  They are called tillers, and usually just mean the plants are growing in favorable conditions.
