Early blight on Anya potatoes

I have ten containers growing 2nd early Anya potatoes, many of the leaves are now covered in tiny spots, which look like pictures of early blight.  We intend to empty one out and see what is happening to the tubers, they were planted end of March.
My question is what to do with all of the spent compost?  I won't put it near to the other vegetables, but would it be safe to use in other parts of the garden, around shrubs and perennials?  At worst, I can dispose of it under the ghastly leylandii hedge at the bottom of the garden.

You can put it on any part of the garden unless you intend growing potatoes or tomatoes there.  It is likely on the alkaline side, so I would not use it under camellia or rhododendrons or azaleas.
  • Thank you, it would seem a waste to throw away this peat free compost, especially as the garden soil is a bit heavy and could use a mulch.
