Suggestions of what to do with honeysuckle/powdery mildew
Hi All. Fairly new gardner here after lots of flat living. I have a narrow north facing garden. There is quite and established honeysuckle on on wall. I left it after moving in the autumn as the birds were enjoying hopping about in it. To be honest I've just let a lot of things grow to see what was here and where the sun gets to. It started out great this spring, but has now developed mildew (I think), is dropping leaves and parts look unwell (see photos). It is flowering all at the top that gets the most sun and there are lots of flower buds.
My question: Do I just leave it, keep raking up fallen leaves then cut back in autumn? Or should I really cut back a lot of the bad parts asap? I wont look great if i do that, bit it doesnt look great now.
Would the best thing to do be just it right back to main stem/ ground and would it grow again? The base is about 20cm wide.
Any advice welcome! Thank you
