Tree advice

Hi there. Hoping to get some good advice here. I need to move house and am considering buying this property. The trees beyond the fence belong to the property and some of them are enormous. They are planted on sloping ground to block out the view of a giant warehouse complex. The home survey says they are not causing any problems at the moment. A friend suggested some of the bigger ones are firs which will continue to grow and grow. These are the only thing putting me off buying this house. Don't know if they can be safely ignored, if they should be topped, what it would cost, etc. I don't know anything about trees really, when I've bought and planted trees before I've researched carefully and bought trees suitable for the space. I'm hoping that the person who planted these did their research too. Thanks in advance

Hi there, they look far away not to cause any problem, but as a precaution, if you do decide to buy the property, I'd recommend that you have a drains survey to check for any root ingress or damage.  It would also be worth asking a qualified tree surgeon for advice on present and future maintenance of the trees, even if it means paying an appropriate consultation fee.  Hope this helps. (Lovely garden with great potential by the way!)
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

I’d definitely echo the drain survey advice. It might cost upwards of £250 but it’s much better than having to fix an issue once you move in which could cost a LOT more.
