What's wrong with me NZ Flax?

Hi. There's two of them have been planted up in their pots - the pots are definitely big enough for them. Compost used was as per below. Anything I should be doing?

'Westland Compost Multipurpose with added john Innes and Enriched with BIO3 - 60L'.

I take it the pot is well drained? Sometimes it's a mistake to put plants in too large a pot especially just with multipurpose compost, which can get a bit soggy. Instead I would pot on gradually, making sure it was going into a new container with about a hand's width of extra space around the root ball. For a Phormium I'd use half multipurpose compost and half good garden soil, well mixed.

  • Ok, yes I guess I was thinking about its eventual size (probably too much!). They were in incredibly small pots that they were bursting out of and looked v happy then. Yes, I think the pot's well-drained - it's certainly not looking waterlogged at all. I'll have a look to see if there's better pots I can use at the weekend.
