50 year old Copper Beech tree

The leaves on my copper beech tree are small and wizened and keep falling. It's only June. What can i do?

    You'll need to post a pic or 2 and describe where your tree is sited and any other factors which may aid posters to offer info/advice.

    The tree is in my front garden. The leaves are covered with small white aphids.
    I cannot get my photo to send as the image is too big - not sure how to make it smaller - sorry - silver surfer:)
