Potato Plants

Hi,
My first season growing potatoes and would like some advice on the health of my potato plants . The stem of some of the plants has a dark green/brown colour on them . I've sprayed the plants for blight last week and would like to know if this is blight or some other disease, the potato plants  otherwise seem healthy.

They look perfectly healthy to me. I thing thats normal colouration … some potatoes have white flowers and white skins, some have purple flowers and the potato skins can have varying amounts of reddish/purplish colour. This colouring is often echoed in the colour of the stems.

Agree with @Dovefromabove - your plants look fine.
I'd just add that indiscriminate spraying is not really a good idea ( particularly on something you want to eat ).
Unless you know what you are spraying against - in your case nothing - it is pretty pointless as well as a waste of time/effort/money.
    Enjoy your potatoes :)

I sprayed them against blight .The weather has been humid of late and we've had blight forecasted here in Ireland recently.

I admit I don't have any knowledge about a spray which will actually prevent blight.  :)

Blight would attack the leaves first,  they quickly go brown black and wilt.  It takes time to get to the stems, sometimes you can save a plant by taking off affected leaves,  if it hasn't reached the stems.
