Problem Solanum

Can anyone give me some advice about my Solanum please? I cut it back hard this year and it was absolutely fine and started flowering as normal. I was away last week but it was watered regularly (it was very hot) and now we've got this miserable weather (and have had a lot of wind) it looks like this. I've cut off the lower branches that are completely dead and given it another mulch and a feed but no improvement yet. Any ideas?
