Repotting a Hosta

DitsyDitsy Posts: 196
I have a large hosta that has very much outgrown its pot. I know it is recommended to divide and pot on but I would like to let it keep big. Can I just put it into a larger pot at the end of the growing season?

TIA.

Yes … I’ve done it several times with some of mine.

Unfortunately it is not at all wonderful this year. The slugs have got to it badly - probably because it is so stressed and pot bound. It has been in the same pot about seven years.  :s

I have never seen it in this state before, it's normally a beauty.

Repotted into good compost and given some time, it'll put out a second flush of leaves

No wonder the poor thing hasn't been doing well.

And now I can almost hear it breathe a sigh of relief. The new pot is 48cm.

It looks as if it’s taken a tight corset off … needs a good scratch 🤣
