I have several dahlias in pots… all thriving… yesterday morning I discovered three had been munched and knocked over… discounted pigeons and squirrels (think they’d be too small). Rabbits or muntjacs? Never seen either in our garden…
If the pots were knocked over, I would suspect something fairly substantial. Were the tops of the plants actually eaten, or just chewed off and left? It's interesting that the remaining leaves look untouched - I suspect rabbits or deer would have nibbled some of those as well. Foxes playing or badgers are also possibilities. I think you need a trailcam.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Not sure if they were actually eaten or just chewed off and left... we have had a fox in the garden, but not recently... Yes, a trailcam would be a good idea...
