I've only grown T delavayi and it didn't seem to respond to deadheading. So my new T "Black Stockings", which are going over now, will not be dead headed. Maybe tidied up a little bit but the spent flowers look quite attractive (otherwise I'd cut it right down).

Wow - such a short flowering time?

Mine started mid May, look like they'll finish up totally by end of June. They were attractive during April as they started producing dark purple shoots, and look like they will hold their shape pretty well after flowering, possibly into winter. I believe they have good autumn foliage colour.

Mine has been going for a while, I don’t  think they flower again, last year I left some flowers on and it self seeded.

Do they respond strongly to shade and damp?
