    Hi
Leave the flowers on the potatoes to die - then you can dig up your potatoes.
If there are flowers on your red onions, they are going to seed.  Best pull them up!
    Cheers

Hi @issiewigEU55-n_O and welcome.  If you remove the potato flowers, a tiny bit more energy will go into producing the tubers, but I generally leave them on.  However, if any form the (toxic) tomato-like fruit, those take far more of the plants' energy so are best removed as soon as seen.
If your red onions are flowering, they have 'bolted' which is often caused by lack of water at some stage, or other unusual weather conditions.  You can cut those flowers off but the affected bulbs will not store, so best used straight away in the kitchen.
