Aloe vera problems

I need help! My aloe was bought on clearance because it was almost dead but I revived it and it's grown a lot. I put it into a larger pot but recently moved it back to this one. I don't know if I'm over or under watering it. I added pebbles and small rocks to the soil for better drainage, and have kept him out of direct sun for a few days. The stems keep turning yellow, then they fall over close to the base and turn brown and shrivel up. This one isn't fully shriveled yet. What do I do??? It always starts with the smaller leaves. Idk how to save my plant.

My guess would be too much water.

I agree. On a photo looks like soil can be a bit too rich for aloe . I’d mix in some perlite for more drainage and let it dry really well between waterings. I water mine about once a few month)))

I agree … ours are totally ignored in the winter … then we give them a really good watering in late spring once temperatures starts to go up, then a couple more good waterings through the summer and that’s about it. As soon as light levels and temps drop they’re ignored again. They’re thriving … have to keep splitting them … they’re taking over the house ….
