Olive tree dead? Help!

Hello - Is my olive tree passed saving? I'm not sure why it went like this, couldn't it of been frost? or does it need planting out of the pot?
The leaves started to go brown so I watered it more but it didn't seem to help. The soil was staying wet and I read they didn't like to be in damp soil.
It did get blown over in the wind and the root exposed, perhaps it was the trauma?

What can I do to try and salvage it? should I take the dead leaves off and trim it back?

It could still be alive - they are pretty tenacious little souls.  Trim it back a bit - can it be repotted or better still planted into the garden?  Don't give up on it, they take a bit of knocking back.  It will probably start regrowing - could take months - or years, but it will be fine.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

If it is any help I trimmed mine back a little too aggressively and at wrong time of the year and thought I had killed it.  it was planted in the garden so I just left it and it has come back to life.  Took about a year but I did get a bit carried away with the cutting.  Have learnt my lesson
