Mildew on cucumber plants?

It’s white and on both top and underside of leaves… mildew? I’ve been really careful with the watering, but never can guarantee that hubby follows my instructions about not getting leaves wet (argues the rain does, why is there a difference)!

Anything I should do, nice strong plants just showing first flowers so I want to save them if possible.

Most likely, certain varieties are more prone.. regardless of how careful you water.  I try to only grow resistant varieties now (here is a list for future).  I've tried cutting off the most infected leaves, to cut down on spore spread.. especially if it's a large plant and late season.  I've also tried the milk washes, with some success?  It's more of a preventative.. but I figured it would glue down some of the spores and stop the spread.. and prevent it on healthy leaves.  I felt like the washes helped.. but they weren't a cure.

Thanks blue onion, I’ve nipped off the worst leaves and I’ll give a milk was a go. As I’ve no idea what variety they are it’s hard to know what to expect. I don’t use enough to warrant buying my own seeds so me and a few friends do plant swaps so we get whatever each of us has managed to grow too much of….in my case I have been giving out pea and lettuce plants in return for mixed toms and cucumbers this year.
