Are these stinking irises?

Can someone help me with these 2 iris flowers? They are from 2 different plants, though they look quite similar. Someone told me they're stinking irises. Are they? TIA.

I thought it was the roots which stank... never given them a sniff though.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
1
