The Poets Wife rose

I planted The Poets Wife rose as a bare root last autumn & it is now flowering beautifully but the blooms are very big & the stems seem unable to support them.  Is this normal for this rose?

    Yes. Would improve with age but it is a rose with sprawling habit. I give it a some support where needed and let it do its thing.

    Ok thanks.  I'm hoping it will improve & become stronger as I must admit they irritate me flopping!
