Dahlias

I leave my dahlias in all year because I live in a mild climate and they usually grow quite tall and quickly.  They have started growing and they have got to about 12 inches and stopped. They have been like this for two weeks. Any suggestions?

What's the weather been like where you are? The kind of rapid growth that dahlias normally make at this time of year needs water to sustain it. I leave mine in all year too, and they've really shot up over the last month or so, after a late start. I give each one a good drink once a week if it doesn't rain much, once they've started to grow.
