What's wrong with my rose

Only bought last year and was doing really well I belive it got wind burn when we have all that strong wind a little while ago but it just doesn't look very happy. What can I do to help boost it up again

    It does look a bit stressed Claire, and has a problem with black spot. 
    If there are any leaves fallen onto the compost, pick them up and dispose of them. There are various treatments (sprays) for black spot, both organic and non organic. 
    I would also give it a feed, again you can buy specialist rose food, but l use either tomato or seaweed feed.

    Thank you for your help I will look into black spot and give it some tlc 🤞 it bounces back

    Oh dear, it does look rather battered, doesn’t it? Wind can be very desiccating for plants and their leaves so it has probably suffered from being too dry (even of the soil feels moist). The dead/dying/crispy/yellow leaves will not recover and they will not contribute much, if anything, to the rose’s health as they cannot photosynthesise nor take up/transpire water. So I would pick the worst of those all off, give it a good, deep soaking and move it temporarily into a more sheltered position if you can. It will look a bit bare, but don’t worry about that as it will soon grow new leaves.

    Perhaps give it some seaweed feed as a general tonic, either as a foliar feed or at the roots, but I would otherwise lay off the fertiliser, including tomato feed, until it’s recovered a bit. I feel that feeding a sick plant is kind of like forcing an ill child to eat rich foods when all they need and want is plenty of fluids and maybe a bit of soup! 

    Another tip is, when deadheading spent blooms, prune them back to just above a good set of 5 leaves, which will encourage new leafy shoots from that pruning point, rather than just snipping off the flower blooms at the top.

    Only through bitter experience @AnniD! Crazy weather patterns have played havoc this year and many of my roses are naked from the waist down. Blackspot and sawfly damage not helping either. Following a similar purge, I am seeing some new leafy growth though 👍
