  If it is that @yarrow2 I certainly haven't planted it, had to look it up on t'internet.  I still have no idea.

  Mystery over,  I pulled it up because it was much too tall for the spot it was in and I was convinced it was the dreaded golden rod.  The plant label came up with the plant and it was in fact Lobelia Compton Pink.  I have given it a Chelsea chop and planted it in a large pot.  If it survives I'll find a more suitable place for it.
