Help - what are these furry, white splotches on my acer?
Hello everybody,
I have a 5 year old acer in a pot. It has always lived quite happily until this year when it's definitely a bit miserable. Looking under the leaves, there are these strange white splotches on most of them. Pic below. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?
I wondered about mildew, but it's only on the undersides of the leaves. Also horse chestnut scale, but there's no brown insects in sight nor any sign of anything on the trunk or branches - only the leaves.

Any help much appreciated, thank you in advance.
