What's up with my tomato plant?

Novice here...

What do you reckon's up with this tomato? The leaves seem to be dying off. It was doing ok until the last couple of weeks.
I think the new leaves at the top seem ok so far though, should I just leave it?

Lower leaves do yellow and die off - a natural process.  Difficult to really tell from your pic  but the pot seems rather small for a tomato plant and it is therefore probably lacking both water and nourishment.  It will also require support :)
  • Haha thanks yes it is well overdue a repotting, it might just perk up a bit when I get round to rehoming it then.

I'd agree - the pot's very small for the plant size and it needs potting on into something bigger. There won't be any nutrition left in the compost by now.
Once you do that, as well as a support, it'll come away well   :)

Needs to be in a 12” pot,  side shoots need to come off, I think this is one or two, maybe more marked in red,  so, big pot, 6’cane and side shoots off and it will be away.
when the first flowers turn to small green tomatoes you can give it a feed of Tomorite or a cheaper version.

  • Poor old tomato update:

I think it's definitely looking a bit happier... for now. I have also totally lost track of which bits I'm meant to pinch out so I guess I just have a small tomato-less bush now. 🙈

Definitely much happier. Has it not got any flowers at all?
Remove any obvious new, small side shoots that are appearing - I've circled one near the top - but the other one I've put a line through also looks like a side shoot. It's just that they're getting quite large. It's a bit difficult to see well though.
You'll just need to go over the plant and see what's needing removed. I sometimes leave a few on, because I've missed them, without it becoming a problem.
You can remove bigger ones and grow them on too. They'll root, and you get another plant, but you may need to have them undercover because they might be a bit late now to produce flowers and fruit before it's too cold for them. I have one which I removed and  grew on a couple of months ago, and it's fruiting now.
