Catnip

Hello all. One of my lilac trees did not grow leaves or flowers this year. There were buds but these were dry and dark. There is sign of life (green when scratched lightly) and no sign of pests. Could this be frost damage as another of my lilacs has done beautifully and is only 4 metres away from the seemingly dormant one. Thanks.

    Hi, if you edit your post to describe the issue you have you will probably get more advice. I thought this was a post about catnip.

    I nearly didn't look either. The thread title needs to refer to the query but @catnip, I don't think you can edit that, only the contents of the post. 
    If your lilac has shown no sign of new growth by this time of year, it's likely it's not survived. It may have been on the way out due to disease or just age,  and hasn't had enough oomph to create new growth of any kind.
    Frost would only affect any new, soft growth - they're completely hardy shrubs. 
    A couple of photos might help though  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
