Peony leaves turning red & wilting

I only have 2 stems on my Peony, one side is looking healthy the other has turned red and dying, is this blight? There are no blotches on the leaves just red. Any advise please, can i save it.

It's more likely that the stem has been damaged somewhere lower down - possibly by slugs. Inspect the stems anyway.  :)
Peony wilt or blight, would tend to cause rotting off  low down and the leaves would look brown and blotchy before that, which isn't what you're describing. Like many of these diseases, it's more common in wet conditions, and if there's a lot of humidity.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
