Peonies.

My peony plant lost all its flowers really suddenly this year. The pink blooms were beautiful but after a week they suddenly wilted and dropped.
Last year they were beautiful. Has anyone else had this problem this year?

    Welcome to the Forum.
Sometimes if the weather is just too hot, they'll drop, but it's not been super hot yet.

I think 30C is super hot for peonies 😉   I certainly wouldn’t expect the blooms to last more than a week in that heat.

As the majority of forum members live in the UK, I suspect 40 degrees is a temperature we are unlikely to feel (at least for a few years).
Assuming the OP lives in the UK, I'm wondering if it could be lack of water. In spite of the rain we had back in May, l've been making sure that my peonies have plenty of water.
@pauline170, are they still fairly new plants or have you had them for several years?
  • Mine was beautiful this year, now has dropped all the petals, do you cut of the flower that’s left or just leave it, I have one more bud to open,
