Leaf rust on blueberry

I bought my first blueberry plant in April potted it with ericaceous, it’s been doing very well. However about a week ago the leaves have red spots which is that rust disease appears on roses too. I have been removing the leaves and making sure there is no debris on the soil. I will not be spraying anything chemicals on it. I have a bounty of flowers which are doing very well, will I still be able to eat the blueberries no matter what state the leaves are in? Thanks Josie

    Hi Josie
Your blueberries will be fine - rust only affects the leaves.
My pears get rust every year, but it doesn't damage the fruit

  • Hi Pete.8 thank you so much for your advice as I was worried I’d loose the plant!
